Spring Fever

I texted this picture to myself and said, It looks like Swamp Thing is aggregating here.

Which makes me laugh: It’s true! And there can be something a little unsettling about things once asleep waking back up. The time change has messed with my sleep and routines. And oh boy, thanks a lot for seasonal allergies and sinus headaches for coming back—maybe one year you’ll forget about me! But not this year.

I do appreciate longer daylight hours into the evening. Still, something about brighter lights on my daily commute home seems a little aggressive? Or like it’s making me look more intentionally at what I see every day.

I have spring fever (and “March Madness” is a great term, though I don’t mean anything to do with basketball), and I’ve been seeking relief.

At the movies:

Also, at-home movies. My comforting re-watches include:

And music. A Christmas gift finally arrived in almost-April, but it was when I needed something fresh and strange and boundary-breaking. New Blue Sun by Andre 3000 arrived for me on the first day of spring.

Relief in treats (books are also treats):

Round up of all the blooms I have seen since mid-February:

I shook out all the dust at home and did my spring cleaning. A really beautiful meal at Buvette in the West Village inspired both of us to cook more.

More scenes from that NYC day:

Actually, I would like to recommend walking The High Line at sunset as a treatment for Spring Fever!

A Philly adventure, too:

But the best thing I have this spring so far (four days in) is volunteer for an Eggstravaganza at a community center. Bunny ears required!
