The Dream of the 90s is Alive in Portland

I had never been to Portland, OR! What a gorgeous place. I see why it’s called the City of Roses. Enjoyed Mt. Tabor park immensely.

I didn’t get enough in five days, I can tell you that. But I can recommend Ground Kontrol, Bollywood Theater (restaurant), Rogue Brewery and Taqueria Los Gorditos.

What a literary city! Powell’s was a pilgrimage to me. Stumbling through Mother Foucault’s Bookshop is one favorite memory. I was officially in town for AWP 2019, and the writer’s conference was a whirlwind as always.

DONUT VERSUS DONUT: I was very happy to jump into the Voodoo Donut and Blue Star Donuts rivalry. I needed MANY taste-tests to be sure.
