Five places I have been this week

Phew! I have a three-day weekend ahead (Monday off for Indigenous Peoples Day) and my plan is to rest, stay home, read books … take a break from spending money.

^ This image made me laugh — it’s a pretty big deal that I flew across the country last week. I like to explore, but in recent years I’ve been sticking pretty close to home.

Place #1: Last weekend we attended a lovely wedding, and made a Red Bank Weekend out of it:

Fun to wear fancy clothes on the beach:

The couple asked for no phones/photos at the ceremony and reception, which I LOVE! I captured some of the atmosphere, but it was lovely, and doubly lovely to be so fully present there:

Place #2: A walk around Queen Village in Philadelphia, on an unseasonably warm and sunny October day. A windows-open evening:

Still weirdly obsessed with the Bonapartes in America, but I had never visited Joseph’s former house before:

Beau Monde indeed:

Got to play with the Philly Tarot deck! I’d seen its art, but never had the chance to hold the entire deck before:

That Rodin statue has meant a lot to me, and I have visited it in Philly. So cool to see that on the card.

Place #3: Curiosty-driven excursion to the giant mega mall in North Jersey. I don’t love shopping, but I do love walking and looking at interesting things:

Place #4: Back at work, I had one lesson in a community garden with kids. They found a CHRYSALIS!!

Place #5: Visited some old stomping grounds in New Brunswick, NJ:

I tried to capture THEE MOST New Brunswick shot:
