BUY MY BOOK! under a blue moon

I will NEVER forget this past Leo season. I am a Leo (sun) and even I was stretched to my social limits. We had two full moons during this August (the second one over the weekend is called a “blue moon”) and two big events in my life pushed me back into the spotlight:

2) I SOLD A CHAPBOOK AND IT IS COMING OUT AUG 31 AND YOU CAN PURCHASE IT!!!!

I’ve been promoting … every part of my being: my full-time job which I happen to love, and know is important, and struggle to keep alive during pandemic / semi-lockdown / possibly frustrated “reopening” or whatever we are calling this current phase.

And I have been promoting my strange smol book, a collection mostly written during lockdown during a spooky summer in Philly, reflecting on the ways romantic relationships can make us monstrous but also put us in harm’s way. I’ve been promoting my particular rendering of monsters.

To unwind I read tarot and walk through cemeteries and read Japanese noir and tend my garden. You know, the usual.

Here is a sunflower opening in my backyard. A few petals peeled back every day until BAM!! It was blooming. Writing has been like this for me–been pitching books for 15 years, it’s been a lot of work for progress at what feels like a snails’ pace.
